SNOW SCULPTURES CONTESTon the Town Hall Meadow
The snow is transformed and comes to life through the snow sculpture competition in Selva di Val Gardena. This magical event turns snow into true works of art, making imagination tangible. The snow sculpture competition, now in its 29th edition, is an adventure of creativity and originality, where participants challenge themselves by working with a material as fascinating as it is complex. The result? Impressive and evocative creations that seem to come to life before our eyes. This competition has become a cherished tradition since its beginnings in the early 1990s. Sculptors and artists, mainly from the valley, who usually work with wood, enjoy three days of shaping gigantic figures out of icy snow.
In 2026, the competition will revolve around the theme “WINTER GAMES”, inspired by the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Olympics Milano Cortina 2026.
The winners of the snow sculpture competition will be selected by a panel of experts. In addition, a separate People’s Choice Award will be presented.
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, 25 January 2026 at 4 p.m. on the municipal meadow.
